When and where is check in/check out? 
Check-in and check-out will occur in O'Connell Hall where the overnight participants will reside.  See Map/Directions page.


What should I bring to Academy? 
Each participant should bring their medical release form and Academy confirmation letter along with enough soccer gear to last the week. This would include cleats, indoor shoes, shin guards, soccer shorts, t-shirts, water bottle, sun screen,and spending money for the Academy store. One Academy t-shirt and soccer ball will be provided for each participant.

 

What if a participant must leave Academy early?
If a participant absolutely must leave Academy prior to it’s completion we will provide a pro rated credit for that participant for the following year. 
The $200 deposit is non-refundable but is transferable to the next year’s RSA or to a family member.


Is Goalkeeper specific training provided?
All of our Academy sessions will have GK specific training available. The Regis University men’s and/or women’s GK trainer will provide the training to include technical functional training in the morning session, tactical functional training in the afternoon, including integration with the field players, and supervisory warm-up and evaluation during the evening matches.  Participants who select to attend the RSA as a GK must remain exclusively within the the goalkeeper training group and will not be permitted to also train a portion of the day as a field player.

 


What kind of supervision is provided for the participants off the field between sessions and overnight?
Between all sessions and overnight stays participants are supervised at all times in the residence halls by current Regis University Men’s and Women’s Soccer Players, as well as, other Academy staff. Each Regis Soccer Academy staff member undergoes both state and federal background checks on a yearly basis before being hired.


When is my final Academy balance due?
Remaining balance is due on or before two weeks prior to the start of Academy.


Is there a certified athletic trainer on staff?
The Regis Soccer Academy does have a certified athletic trainer on staff available 24 hours a day during the Academy. Participants are expected to bring their own athletic tape if they need preventative taping for an existing condition.


What is the ratio of participants to staff?
In order for each participant to get the most out of the week the Regis Soccer Academy will always have a participant to staff ratio of no more than 9 to 1.

 

When is registration closed?
Registration for each week of the Academy will be closed 3 days prior to start of the Academy and is limited to the first 150 deposited participants for RSA I &II and 180 participants for the HS Academy.


Is there a waiting list for the Academy?
The Regis Soccer Academy typically has a few last minute cancellations for each Academy session and will have a waiting list based on a first come first serve basis for those participants that have already deposited or paid their balance in full.


Is there another way to register besides online?
The Regis Soccer Academy will also accept telephone registrations by credit card or check.

Can we register an entire team?
Yes, a minimum of 10 players constitutes a team and each participant will receive a10% discount. Teams will train and compete together and will reside in close proximity in O'Connell Hall.  Please contact JB Belzer for details on how to register an entire team.


Can the residential participants choose their roommate(s)?
Definitely! We will try to accommodate all roommate requests up to two participants per room. Please specify your roommate requests on the on-line registration form.


How much spending money should each participant bring?
$50 is sufficient. We will have an Academy store in the residence halls with snacks, drinks, pizza and Regis Soccer accessories for sale.


 

Can the participants swim during the week?
As of the summer of 2009, the Regis University administration closed the on campus, indoor pool for cost containment measures.  The pool will not be available for use during RSA sessions.


Can parents come and watch the training sessions?
All parents and family members are invited to attend any training session to observe only. Evening matches are a great way to see and experience the environment of Academy.


How can parents contact participants during Academy?
All parents and family can send an email, which will be given to the intended participant, in confidence, after each training session.
